Keys to Victory

Recent polls have shown that our nation and our state are evenly divided with an ever decreasing “swing vote.” Pollsters have dubbed this our “49% nation.” This trend emphasizes the need for a well-trained and educated conservative grassroots political army due to the need to maximize conservative turnout on Election Day. The growing number of well-financed liberal training organizations is evidence that they have figured out that in order to win at the polls, you cannot just rely on high-priced television advertisements. Instead, one must also invest substantial resources into a high-powered, highly organized ground game.

In both 2004 and 2006, conservative and liberal candidates were very close in the amounts of money they spent directly on their campaigns. However, since liberals were assisted greatly by a well-organized, well-funded grassroots effort, they realized significant gains in Minnesota and nationally.

To achieve conservative grassroots success we must:

·         Find and recruit conservative-minded leaders throughout Minnesota to train and motivate through comprehensive leadership training and issue education.

·         Build and maintain a relationship with graduates through an ongoing alumni network creating a “farm team” of strong activists and conservative candidates for office.

·         Organize and motivate leaders for continued action and leadership.
